Lucy gave a keynote speech at a STEM workshop at Sancton Wood School in Cambridge on ‘How to Make a Better World’. It was part of their Thriving Minds Symposium.

Lucy Hawking spoke to 120 pupils from a range of schools across Cambridge at Sancton Wood School with her speech ‘How to Make a Better World’.

Lucy gave the keynote speech where she encouraged students to think about how they can make the world a better place.   Using one of her father’s phrases, she told the children to make the world “a place we want to visit”.

“I’m trying to open a doorway to say you can be part of this,” she said.

“You can understand these issues, here is the vocabulary and here are big questions associated with this topic and you have the right to have an opinion about it.”

Lucy commented that “It was wonderful to hear about what the students have been getting up to in their Enrichment course and how Thriving Minds has been building knowledge and self-confidence in the next generation. We’re in capable hands!.”
